About Darlene McNeil
Darlene McNeil was a dedicated NSUPE Local 20 member for many years who participated at the Local, Executive Council, and Council Committee levels. She had a strong commitment to NSUPE and its members. Darlene believed in the importance of unity and was a staunch defender of solidarity. She participated freely and often in rallies, parades, and protests to promote unionism and advance NSUPE’s position in our communities, which often included PEI and Digby.
She was an ardent participant at fellowship events, at the CCU level, and during the Canadian Blood Services strike in PEI. At NSUPE’s Convention in 2017, Darlene was named a Life Member of NSUPE for her years of hard work and commitment to the labour movement. We are honoured to distribute this year’s bursaries in her memory and continue supporting NSUPE members and their families.
