Stand together against racism

On March 21, we acknowledge the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. As per NSUPE’s Constitution we strive for;

  • the improvement of the economic, social and cultural life of working people and the extension of civil rights and liberties, and
  • the improvement of wages, working conditions and job security of all workers including the right to equal pay for work of equal value.

Every person is entitled to human rights without discrimination. The rights to equality and non-discrimination are cornerstones of human rights law. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in the Declaration, without distinction of race or any other kind.

The United Nations’ theme for 2018 is “Promoting tolerance, inclusion, unity and respect for diversity in the context of combating racial discrimination”.
