Working alongside NSUPE’s Business Agents and Local Executives, Union Advocates help to enforce collective agreements and protect member rights. They are crucial in mobilizing members, communicating updates, and ensuring workplace safety.
This training session will cover the duty of fair representation, employees’ rights, managements’ rights, grievances, arbitration, and advocate training tips.
Any NSUPE members interested in becoming a union advocate or current advocates and officers who have not had previous training are invited to attend. Please note that this session is first come, first served with 30 spaces available. Depending on the level of interest, the number of attendees from each Local may be limited. Members requiring union leave are asked to submit their request to their employer and NSUPE as soon as possible.
The introductory advocate training session in December is now full. Please contact Melissa at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (902) 422-9495 to have your name put on a waiting list for the next session.
