Dwayne Whynot passed away suddenly on May 3, 2022. A dedicated employee of Conway Workshop for 22 years, Dwayne worked closely with clients in both the firewood and mill departments, forming strong and lasting connections.
He was a passionate advocate for workers’ rights, serving as a union representative with Local 16 and, at the time of his passing, held the position of Local President. In 2021, he was elected Vice President of NSUPE during their annual convention.
Dwayne’s legacy continues to resonate throughout Conway Workshop, where his presence is fondly remembered by both staff and clients. In June 2022, during the annual camp week, clients chose to honour his memory by proudly wearing commemorative shirts and taking part in a variety of meaningful and joyful activities dedicated to celebrating his life and impact.
