NSUPE’s 1st Annual Digby Beach Sweep

On Tuesday, May 8, NSUPE Local 16 members volunteered their time to host a beach sweep. NSUPE Local 16, which represents vocational and residential instructors at the Conway Workshop Association in Digby, Nova Scotia came out to clean garbage that has collected on the beach adjacent to Raquette Road. Local 16 members walked the beach to pick-up rope, lobster claw bands, gloves, and other trash that had washed ashore.

Local executive members Dwayne Whynot, Mona Deveau, and Amanda Farnsworth are hoping that the NSUPE Beach Sweep becomes an annual Local 16 event.

A sincere thank you to everyone that participated. The Digby shoreline is a little bit cleaner thanks to your hard work.
