International Women’s Day

Did you know that International Women’s Day is just a couple days away on Sunday, March 8?

This year’s theme is #EachforEqual. According to the International Women’s Day website, an equal world is an enabled world.

One of the ways that we can all contribute to creating a gender equal world is by understanding common gender biases in the workplace. To learn more about common gender biases, please click below to watch the two-minute videos provided on the International Women’s Day website.

  1. Unconscious bias
  2. Performance bias
  3. Attribution bias
  4. Likeability bias
  5. Maternal bias
  6. Affinity bias
  7. Double discrimination and intersectionality

A huge thank you to our amazing Local 19 members – Lisa, TJ, Tanya, Leanne, and Bodine who participated in our IWD selfie challenge. Local 19 represents blood collection and support workers at Canadian Blood Services in Prince Edward Island.
