Did you know that all nine of NSUPE’s Locals have a section of their collective agreement that requires the employer to provide a Union bulletin board?
When was the last time you looked at the bulletin board? Do you know where it is?
Union bulletin boards should be in an area such as the staff lunchroom that is easily visible to all NSUPE members. The Local Executive and Executive Council Member should regularly be posting information for members to view. However, sensitive information that should not be accessed by management should not be posted on the bulletin board.
Many Locals also have Facebook accounts to help distribute information to members. Which do you prefer?
